Bendigo team host a birthday party for their client (and friend)

The decision to walk through the doors at are-able Bendigo office, was just the beginning of a path to a better life for Ryland Bell.

Over the past two years, Ryland has come to be part of the family at are-able Bendigo.  He shuffled in to the office after suffering from a traumatic brain injury and seizures.

Ryland has been diagnosed with MS, but that doesn’t stop him. He regularly runs marathons and talks proudly about giving back to his community by raising money for those who are in need.

Today is Ryland’s birthday and his wish was to have a little party with the ones he cares about and those who care about him. So, we threw him a party!

“I didn’t know what to expect. To say that I’m speechless well, that was the case for me today. What you guys did for me was beautiful. It’s a day I’m never going to forget,” said Ryland.

“Talking about the person I was when I first came to you, and the person I am now. It made me emotional. I’m really glad I gave you guys the benefit of the doubt all those months ago.”

The team who have worked with Ryland and come to know him well, are so very proud of his journey. Being a part of Ryland’s birthday really was ‘the icing on the cake’ for our team who have worked with Ryland to build his capacity to work, whilst improving his self-esteem and general wellbeing.

“You’re an incredible group of people, who are so kind, supportive, caring and compassionate. You guy’s mean a lot to me.  Today was just another reminder that I made the right call in giving are-able a chance.”

Happy Birthday, Ryland! Form your friends at are-able – Bendigo.
