are-able Foundation Announces 2023 Community Grants to Promote Inclusiveness and Access for People with Disabilities

The are-able Foundation is excited to announce the opening of its 2023 Community Grants, which are aimed at promoting inclusiveness and providing access and opportunities for people living with disabilities in regional communities. The foundation, which has distributed over $1.5 million to various businesses and community organisations around Victoria since its inception in 2004, is committed to reducing barriers for people living with disabilities to participate in community life through targeted group activities.

According to Tom Scarborough, CEO of are-able, “We believe that everyone deserves the chance to thrive and contribute to their community, and our 2023 Community Grants through the are-able foundation is one way we can support those who face barriers. We are excited to see the positive impact these grants will have, and we look forward to working alongside our community partners to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.”

The 2023 are-able Foundation Community Grants will be open for applications from Thursday, 2nd March, and will close on Friday, 15th April at 5pm. Successful grant recipients will be announced on Monday, 15th May. To be eligible for a community grant, applicants must be located within a are-able Geographical area, and the activity or project must benefit people within the community experiencing disability or disadvantage.

“We encourage all eligible organisations to apply for a are-able Foundation Community Grant,” said Scarborough. “Together, we can help reduce barriers and promote inclusiveness in regional communities.”
