Employer Digital Identity Requirement

Employer Digital Identity Requirement

are-able would like to inform all the wonderful businesses and employers in our community who employ are-able jobseekers that the Department of Education, Skills, and Employment (DESE) has made an update to the online system used to manage wage subsidies and vacancies

What is happening?

From 30 March 2022, employers will be required to use Digital Identity to access online services for the Department of Education, Skills, and Employment (DESE). If employers don’t upgrade their account by 30 March correctly, they will lose access to any existing Wage Subsidy, or Internship Agreements.

What is Digital Identity?

Digital Identity is a safe, secure, and convenient way for Australians to prove who they are online.

Currently, you can create a Digital Identity to access government services, like the jobactive website, using the Australian Government’s myGovID. Soon, you will be able to create a Digital Identity to access government services using other identity providers.

Digital Identity makes signing in:

  • Convenient – you can use it on the go, at any time of day.
  • Efficient – it can save you time when you want to access online services.
  • Reusable – set it up once, and then reuse it whenever you are asked to prove who you are.
  • Private – You can be confident your information is private and protected.
  • Secure – It’s secure so you don’t need to remember passwords.

Can are-able help me set up my digital identity?

As this is a federal government initiative, are-able staff are not experts in setting up digital identity. You will find it most efficient to speak with the DESE directly with any questions or concerns you have.

If you are an employer who requires further assistance and guidance, please contact the DESE Employer Hotline on 13 17 15 or email nationalcustomerserviceline@dese.gov.au.
